By the end of this video you’ll have an in-depth guide on how to do niche research in 2 stages.

When I first started affiliate marketing I didn’t know how to find a niche and research it. So I was jumping all over the place, trying to promote different products in different niches depending on what looked popular. But I never really got anywhere doing this and didn’t have much success.

1) It’s better to stick with one or a few niches because you learn more about the niche. With this knowledge you know the right angle you can pitch your product differently yet solve a problem for your audience that other people don’t talk about.

2) If you don’t do your research, you might be pitching a Niche you’re passionate about but people won’t buy from you

Step 1: Brainstorm a large list of possible niches that you might want to go into.

When you’re finding niches, identify smaller niches where the audience is not being catered to properly. So you can be much more targeted to your audience.

Step 1 is to answer this niche questionnaire to generate a list of niche ideas.

Firstly, start with looking at your interests to identify the niches that you are personally interested in. While it is possible to choose an niche that you have no interest in, you’ll be a lot more motivated working in a niche you enjoy.

Then it’s time to look at the market. The evergreen niches that people are always interested in are wealth, health, and relationships. So consider if your interests can be combined with these.

To further narrow your niche, you can also consider how you apply can your topic to a specific niche group or target market.

Step 2: Research profitability of niches.

This is important to understand if people in your niche are
spending money and what they’re spending on.

Also use the research to find out what your angle could be if you entered the market. You will not stand out if you are just doing the same thing that everyone else is doing.

Google Keyword Planner allows you to get search volume data.
Keywords Everywhere Chrome plugin performs a similar function.

For products, you can check Amazon, Clickbank, Google, Facebook to see what’s available and popular so you know what already works in the market.

Through reviews and communities you learn what your audience wants and what’s lacking in the niche that you can come in and offer.

The most successful affiliates have a strong personal brand. People are willing to buy the products you recommend if they see you as an expert recommending it. So if you can find a niche that is profitable and personally resonates with you you could position yourself as an expert, and use the research you did to create a new opportunity.
This new opportunity addresses what your audience is asking for but isn’t getting, yet includes what they love about the current products. This is how the great marketers get people to BUY. There is a book called Expert Secrets which talks about how to do this to 10x your success.

What if I do all this research, and I can’t find a niche?

I recommend the sales funnel software niche. More businesses are moving online to capture the opportunity to sell to anyone with Internet access. They are interested in learning how to build sales funnels easily that will generate sales for them.

ClickFunnels is one of the best software products in the niche and has a strong culture and community around it. It’s free to join their affiliate program.

Builderall is a cheaper alternative. So it’s great for people who find ClickFunnels too expensive but are still looking for a sales funnel builder.
